A huge-scale and dynamic information resources such as Web have been available for everyone since the middle of the 1990s. It is critical for our daily life, and its importance will increase more in the future. In addition to Web, different types of big data have been collected in different domains, and how to make use of such big data is one of the main concerns for society and organizations.
On the other hand, the information processing ability of humans is not so different from the past age: the gap between our information processing ability and the volume of information resources gets larger and larger. To solve such a gap and make more use of information efficiently and conveniently, I focus on the interaction between us and information resources: how to collect/generate useful information and how to present it to humans in an understandable and reusable manner is our main research topics. In particular, I am studying recommendation, information access support, information visualization, and visual analytics, together with my lab members.
