Multimodal Intelligent Systems / Human–Robot Interaction / IoT / Social and Community-Support Robotics
Our research aims to develop robot systems that understand people, engage in dialogue, and facilitate connections between individuals. We focus on multimodal human understanding—integrating information such as human behaviors, physiological data, and environmental context—and on estimating internal states, including emotion and stress. We also investigate how robots can learn community-specific knowledge, like "household rules," through conversation and provide personalized support and adaptive services. To ensure these capabilities work in practice, we place importance on evaluating our methods in real living environments rather than at the theoretical level.
